Ka-Lo Yeh assists clients in protecting their intellectual property and focuses on patent prosecution. She has drafted and prosecuted patent applications in a variety of technological fields including optics, physics, semiconductor devices, mass spectrometry, inkjet printing, 3D printing, photovoltaics, medical devices, and computer science. Ka-Lo is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and German.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ka-Lo was a patent agent at another law firm for many years and successfully argued at an oral hearing before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, reversing all rejections. She is experienced in ex parte reexamination proceedings, and drafting appeal and reply briefs.
During law school, Ka-Lo was a mediator with the Harvard Mediation program, and mediated in small claims court in Cambridge, MA. Ka-Lo spent her third year of law school at Stanford, and volunteered with the Dilley Pro Bono Project through the Levin Center for Public Service and Public Interest Law at Stanford.
Prior to her legal training, she was a graduate research assistant at MIT, and worked extensively with ultrafast lasers. She studied material properties using time-resolved intense terahertz radiation. She has co-authored more than 10 peer-reviewed journal articles, one of which has been cited almost 600 times.
