Joseph Koipally, Ph.D., is a principal in the Boston office of Fish & Richardson P.C. He has broad experience in patent prosecution and client counseling in biotechnology and the medical sciences. He has experience representing universities, start-up companies, as well as mid-sized and large biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. He is regularly involved in patent preparation and prosecution, patentability and freedom to operate opinions, due diligence, as well as general patent counseling in the biotechnology arts.
Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Koipally had six years of previous law firm experience as a technology specialist, as well as a senior technology specialist at another Boston-based IP firm, focusing on biotechnology-related patent prosecution.
Dr. Koipally did his graduate and post-doctoral work at Harvard in the field of eukaryotic gene regulation.
