Hannah Choate advises clients related to government and internal investigations, with a particular focus on fraud and abuse matters in the healthcare industry. Hannah works with clients to respond to allegations of healthcare fraud and abuse from various regulators, including the Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and various United States Attorneys' Offices. Her practice involves: Healthcare Fraud & Abuse – Counseling clients in connection with False Claims Act litigation, internal investigations and responding to governmental inquiries and investigations concerning issues of alleged healthcare fraud and abuse. Compliance & Government Investigations – Conducting internal investigations and related civil and criminal proceedings on behalf of corporate and healthcare clients. Hannah draws on her experience as a former Assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Kentucky, where she focused on Affirmative Civil Enforcement matters and managed a caseload of civil fraud matters from investigation through resolution. Prior to her government work, Hannah was an associate with Baker & Hostetler LLP where she advised clients on regulatory compliance matters; complex commercial litigation; and government and investigations by the DOJ, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other regulators.
