Ed Lavergne is a senior principal in the Washington, D.C., office of Fish & Richardson P.C. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US) and an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Mr. Lavergne advises clients on a full range of privacy and data security issues, including privacy best practices, risk minimization, geolocation tracking, online behavioral advertising, and data breach and incident response planning. Mr. Lavergne has extensive experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements, including spectrum lease agreements, tower leases, asset purchase agreements, content licensing agreements, publication and distribution agreements, and confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements. In addition, he counsels clients on issues involving advertising, marketing, social media influencers, endorsements, wireless communications, and compliance with FCC and FTC regulations, including the TCPA, the CAN-SPAM Act, and the Telemarketing Sales Rule.
