Mary Parrish McCracken tackles the challenges of trial law with determination and skill. Mary Parrish uses her wide range of experience and lessons learned while clerking for a federal judge to master the details of a case and create custom solutions for client needs. During her undergraduate years, Mary Parrish studied english and political science at Vanderbilt University. After graduation, she spent a year working with AmeriCorps in Birmingham where she managed a free tax preparation clinic serving low-income households and coached a middle school debate team before attending the University of Alabama School of Law. While in law school, Mary Parrish strengthened her trial skills as a member of the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board, Trial Advocacy Competition Team and Jessup Moot Court Competition Team. She was also selected for membership to The Order of Barristers, a national honor society recognizing students for oral advocacy and brief writing skills. After graduating law school in 2020, Mary Parrish spent a year in Montgomery, AL clerking for The Honorable R. Austin Huffaker, Jr. where she gained invaluable insight into the workings of a trial court. Mary Parrish continued to build experience working on employment law case matters at a local Birmingham firm before joining Lightfoot. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association. Beyond work, Mary Parrish spends her time reading, playing tennis and hiking with her husband Compton.
