Matt's background as a criminal defense investigator and experience conducting witness interviews helps him to identify and address the key weaknesses in a client's defense strategy and to make sure that the right issues are addressed in depositions to minimize the chances of a surprise at trial. Matt Lawson is a senior associate in the firm's Litigation & Trial Practice Group. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation matters including antitrust and class actions for companies in the manufacturing, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industries. Before law school, Matt worked for three years as a criminal defense investigator in Washington D.C., primarily conducting witness interviews. Matt received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. He received his B.A. in political science and U.S. History from the University of Michigan.
