I enjoy solving complex problems to allow others to achieve their goals. The practice of law is the most satisfying when both the law and policy intersect to produce a compelling and successful argument for a client, leading to positive outcomes. William Wright primarily represents commercial liability insurers and their insureds in a range of casualty and coverage matters, specifically employment, premises liability, and trucking matters, as both primary and excess counsel. In his coverage practice, Billy has advised maritime insurers regarding insurance and indemnity obligations under applicable insurance policies, time charter agreements, and brokerage agreements. He has also litigated coverage disputes and advised insureds and insurers on obligations under insurance policies Billy also represents professionals in a variety of professional negligence matters, including Louisiana’s largest, private healthcare provider and its employees. Billy devotes the remainder of his practice to a wide array of litigation, including contract disputes, business torts, and disputes pertaining to successions, wills, and trusts. With a range of clients representing multiple sectors, Billy understands the challenges and day-to-day operations of his clients in government, transportation, housing, construction, automotive, hospitality, oil and gas, maritime, education, retail, restaurant, and health care. Billy has successfully represented clients at each level of Louisiana’s state and federal court system, as well as before administrative bodies such as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), across a broad spectrum of legal issues. Billy’s educational background in business management and political communication informs his interactions with both commercial clients and governmental entities. While in law school, Billy interned for both the Honorable Kurt D. Engelhardt in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and in the Litigation Department for the New Orleans City Attorney. He joined Adams and Reese in 2015 after participating in its Summer Associate program.
