Robert R. Yap is a trial attorney in the firm's Pasadena office. His practice focuses on business/commercial litigation, general liability defense, labor and employment litigation, public entity defense, and professional liability defense. Mr. Yap has represented various parties in business disputes, business torts, breach of contract/fiduciary duty, and partnership disputes. He has defended employers against wrongful termination, discrimination (age, disability, gender, national origin, and race), harassment including sexual harassment, and retaliation claims and public entities in various civil litigation matters including civil rights and Constitutional matters, employment, and bodily injury claims. He also has experience representing architects, engineers, and attorneys in professional liability matters and creditors in Chapter 7 and 13 cases and adversary proceedings. His general liability experience includes catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death, construction defect, fire, premises liability, products liability, trade secrets, and toxic tort. Before joining CCMS, Mr. Yap was a litigator for an AM Law 200 firm. He has litigated multiple cases to trial and binding arbitration, and successfully argued before the California Court of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He was selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars for Civil Litigation Defense from 2015 – 2018.
