He focuses his practice primarily on post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), having appeared in over 60 proceedings. He also maintains an active prosecution practice at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and handles litigation before the International Trade Commission (ITC). He works closely with clients of all sizes from a wide range of industries, from startups to global corporations. Prior to joining the firm, HJ conducted cutting-edge research at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). HJ's deep technical background allows him to readily grasp the most complex technological concepts that underlie his clients' legal issues. He has extensive experience in a broad array of technologies, including semiconductors, batteries, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive devices and systems, medical devices, artificial intelligence (AI), nanotechnology, optics, and chemistry, among many others.
