Mark has represented institutional and individual clients in a wide range of complex disputes involving product liability, breach of contract, fraud, defamation, tortious interference, mass tort, discrimination, unfair and deceptive trade practices, consumer fraud, and other civil, commercial, and class-action matters. Mark has worked with clients across a range of industries, including gas and oil, nuclear energy, health care, manufacturing, automotive, banking and financial services, and retail. Mark has managed all aspects of complex commercial litigation, including pre-trial evaluation, traditional discovery, e-discovery, mediation, trial, and appeal. In addition to his work at Benesch, Mark is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Alliance on Mental Illness - Greater Cleveland, which aims to empower those living with mental illness and their family members to achieve a better quality of life through education, support, information, and referrals. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mark served in the U.S. Navy as a mechanic on the U.S.S Toledo (SSN 769). Counsel for major off-road vehicles manufacturer in multiple products liability and personal injury actions in state and federal court across the United States. Defended bank against claims arising from plaintiffs' participation in a welfare benefit plan that the IRS deemed an illegal tax shelter. The case involved complicated issues of ERISA preemption. Represented Columbia Gas of Ohio in consolidated state court proceedings stemming from a natural gas explosions in Upper Arlington, Ohio and Portsmouth, Ohio. Provided counsel to multiple clients on issues concerning nuclear supplier liability under international conventions. Represented engine manufacturer in nationwide class action related to consumer claims alleging fraud, breach of contract, and breach of express and implied warranties.
