Jonathan Slowik defends companies in class and representative actions in state and federal courts. Jonathan has significant experience representing clients in the retail and hospitality industries, and has also defended class and representative actions in the telecommunications, health care, software and nonprofit sectors. Jonathan has particular experience regarding the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and is the chief contributor and editor of the PAGA Report, a first-of-its-kind blog dedicated to developments in PAGA jurisprudence. Jonathan also provides advice and counseling to clients on a wide range of issues, particularly in the financial and nonprofit sectors. Jonathan is experienced in all phases of case management, including taking and defending depositions, preparing and arguing motions and dispositive briefs, and alternative dispute resolution. He has successfully argued motions for summary judgment and class certification in California state and federal courts, and in the California Court of Appeal.
