A versatile, resourceful IP attorney with an engineering mind When companies and inventors need dependable IP counsel in a pinch, they turn to Charles Yeh. He's assisted clients with a wide range of complex patent projects for more than a decade, from medical devices and car manufacturing, to banking and software applications. Charles has a reputation as a quick study: He can get "up to speed" swiftly and understand technologies as well as his clients do, allowing him to hit the ground running on any matter. He has represented clients at the United States Patent & Trademark Office, before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, in Federal District Court, and in technology transactions and licensing. Prior to joining Patterson + Sheridan, Charles prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications at a major multinational law firm in Texas. He also defended several companies in patent infringement lawsuits related to mobile device software and semiconductor technologies. Before practicing law, Charles was a software engineer at MicroStrategy, where he oversaw the company's central server technology. He was one of the fastest and youngest to ever be promoted to the company's Senior Engineer ranks. Charles doesn't claim to have all the answers — but he knows where to find them. Client service comes first for Charles, not ego. He doesn't set out to prove that he's the smartest person in the room, but clients do count on him to be the most resourceful. His goal is to deliver results that best serve his clients' interests, while prioritizing their experience and satisfaction. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Charles actively gives back to his community and local government, as well. For ten years, he led the attorney volunteer efforts at the Dallas Housing Crisis Center, where he personally helped more than 100 families avoid homelessness. He continues dedicating pro bono legal services to help low-income tenants in landlord disputes. Charles also serves on the Murphy Board of Adjustment, a committee appointed by the City Council of Murphy, Texas.
