Jocelyn Wiesner's practice focuses on complex product liability and mass tort actions. She has experience defending major pharmaceutical and medical device companies against personal injury claims in state and federal court, including early case assessment, dispositive motions, fact and expert discovery, and depositions. She has argued multiple dispositive and discovery motions in state and federal court, including a Daubert motion in a federal multidistrict litigation. In addition to her work in mass tort actions, Ms. Wiesner represents health care industry clients in consumer fraud class action litigation, where she recently obtained a denial of class certification under Rule 23(c)(4). Ms. Wiesner also counsels multinational companies on a variety of issues, including litigation risks, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory issues, and compliance under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other anti-corruption laws, where she works primarily to coordinate internal investigations. Ms. Wiesner maintains an active pro bono practice. She has acted as Special Victim's Counsel in multiple military court martial proceedings, where she was able to obtain special courtroom accommodations for child victims and witnesses. She also represents criminal defendants in DC Superior Court. Ms. Wiesner graduated with highest honors from George Washington University School of Law in 2012, where she served as a member of the editorial board for the Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. During law school Ms. Wiesner interned with both the US Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia and the Department of Justice's Commercial Litigation - Fraud Section. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Sociology from Providence College in 2007.
