Job Description To sustain its growth, Allen & Overy is currently looking for a Lawyer for our Corporate practice group in Sydney, with a focus on Equity Capital Markets. Our leading practice offers a complete service and a comprehensive, cross-border capability, in conjunction with Allen & Overy’s other international offices. The Corporate practice handles a wide variety of transactional and advisory work for banks, corporates, public entities, financial institutions in Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity Capital Markets, Technology Media & Telecom and Antitrust. Our Equity Capital Markets team, is a market-leading practice led by Tier 1 partners with a depth of experience in IPOs in particular. We offer our clients a unique combined Australian and U.S. law equity capital markets offering. The team has a track record advising on award winning deals in the market. For example, for the last 4 successive years A&O has won the highest honours in the Australasian Law Awards for our involvement in the Equity Market Deal of the Year. That speaks to the calibre of our team and the depth and breadth of our client relationships in this field. The Australian team is led by Tier 1 partner Tony Sparks who was voted ’Lawyer of the Year’ for ECM in Sydney in the 2021 edition of Best Lawyers in Australia. Key requirements We are looking for Australian or New Zealand qualified lawyers with 3 years of experience or more. Any Asian languages are an advantage as we work closely with our colleagues in APAC. You should be a team player with entrepreneurial spirit and exceptional communication skills. The ideal candidate would have prior private practice experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity and/or Equity Capital Markets.
