The following characteristics describe people who succeed in our Firm: Helpful, congenial, personable and positive Unpretentious, approachable, respectful, and team oriented Independent, self-starter, and willing to initiate projects with attorneys Strong communication and writing skills Plans and follows through on tasks Accountable, takes ownership, and corrects mistakes Organized, timely, confidential, and responsive (within 24 hours) Able to work in the Boston office 5 days a week Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist attorneys with the preparation of a civil case throughout discovery and prepare for, attend and assist at trial Be familiar with and understand medical terminology or ability and willingness to learn Review medical records and prepare detailed medical chronologies Review, manage, summarize, and synthesize records and data of all kinds in various types of cases Prepare deposition summaries Prepare subpoenas and non-party requests in both State and Federal Courts Prepare discovery requests to parties Manage and track responses Draft timelines and create other demonstrative evidence Prepare meet and confer correspondence Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and able to learn other programs including document management systems Organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with minimal supervision and exceptional attention to detail Qualifications and Experience: 3+ years paralegal experience in a law firm Civil litigation experience required Experience with medical cases Familiarity with performing research tasks using web-based legal research services Experience working with paperless files. iManage experience a plus Must successfully pass a background/drug screen Required Education Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from ABA approved program required.
