Description
The attorneys in Sullivan & Worcester’s benefits practice combine sophisticated techniques, in-depth tax expertise and years of experience to help employers develop and administer benefit policies and programs that best fit their needs. Our team, together with our labor and employment colleagues, work with employers to formulate practical solutions to a broad range of employment-related issues and problems and help fit compensation and benefit packages into the larger picture, while maximizing the impact of benefit dollars. We regularly work with clients on employment, severance and change in control contracts, and designing and implementing all forms of retirement, welfare, fringe benefit deferred compensation, and equity compensation plans. We also advise clients in the financial services industry by advising on and negotiating investment management agreements, structuring pension plan investments to avoid ERISA where possible (using venture capital operating companies (VCOCs) and real estate operating companies (REOCs), as appropriate), and helping clients navigate fiduciary and prohibited transaction issues under ERISA when not. We are seeking a junior to mid-level associate to join our executive compensation and benefits practice within our Tax Department. The ideal candidate’s experience would include a tax background (through practice or academic experience), with either some exposure in executive compensation and/or traditional employee benefits, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong interest in this area. An LL.M. degree is preferred, but not necessary. Excellent credentials are required.
