Tonkon Torp LLP, a prominent, full-service firm in Portland, Oregon, is looking for a mid-level Labor and Employment Associate with 3-6 years of experience and an active California State bar license to begin work immediately. Current membership in the Oregon State bar is a plus, but not required. The qualified candidate will have experience representing employers before local, state, and federal courts and administrative agencies against charges under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, the NLRA, wage and hour laws, medical leave laws, and other employment-related statutes and regulations. The candidate should also have experience advising employers on various workplace management issues, such as hiring, separation of employment, employment contracts, and other personnel matters. The successful candidate must have a J.D. with high academic standing, excellent writing, analytical, and research skills, strong time management and communication skills, outstanding client service and development skills, proactive initiative for projects, and demonstrated commitment diversity, professionalism, and community service. The successful candidate must be able to run aspects of litigation with minimal supervision, including discovery, document review, and drafting briefs.
