Applicants must have engineering, computer science, or advanced science degrees and strong writing skills, as well as a willingness to learn new areas of technology. Prior work experience in engineering or computer science and/or prior experience in the software development life cycle (as a hands-on developer, technical writer, or analyst) is a plus. Patent agents and engineers will work closely with experienced, senior attorneys and receive individualized training on the patent process. Patent engineers will also be given the opportunity to sit for the patent bar exam for registration to practice in patent matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
