To us, that speaks volumes. <br> <br> ABOUT THIS ROLE <br> Audible (a division of Amazon Global Media Entertainment) is seeking an experienced entertainment lawyer to support the original and acquired programming groups. In this position, the Director of BA will collaborate with creative executives and top tier partners in audio, TV, film, music and theater as they work to deliver Audible customers high quality original content for adaptation on the air, screen and stage. This position reports to the Head of Business Affairs, Entertainment Originals. <br> <br> ABOUT YOU <br> You are a valued strategic partner with a history of structuring and closing deals in the entertainment and new media industries and are ready to assist the global Audible team in negotiating terms that benefit Audible and delights its customers. <br> <br> As a Director of Business Affairs, Entertainment Originals, you will... <br> <ul> <li>Serve as lead or second chair negotiator on deals for creators, producers and rights-holders of original audio content for the development, acquisition, and production of entertainment originals</li> <li>Draft short form deal memos memorializing key negotiated terms, and review long-form agreements that the legal team produces from these memos prior to signature by the parties</li> <li>Partner with internal legal teams to identify and address upfront possible business and legal risks associated with proposed productions</li> <li>Structure and negotiate deals for the adaptation of successful Audible Original audio and theatrical titles for film and television in collaboration with the Head of Film &amp; TV</li> <li>Coordinate closely with members of the content teams at Audible to maintain consistency in messaging and policy</li> <li>Interface on a daily basis with cross-functional groups at Audible and Amazon, including creative content, production, legal, marketing, publicity, tax, finance, and royalties</li> <li>Manage, prioritize, and execute high volume deal flow against specific metrics</li> <li>Track and communicate deal terms within the organization and provide for first line of enforcement of deal terms if necessary</li> </ul> <br> ABOUT AUDIBLE <br> At Audible, we innovate and inspire through the power of voice. For more information, please visit adbl.co/hybrid. <br> <br> We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: <br> <br> Newark, NJ, USA <br> <br> Basic Qualifications <br> <br> <ul> <li>Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school</li> <li>5+ years of law firm and/or in-house transactional experience working for a production company, streamer, studio, or television network</li> </ul> <br> Preferred Qualifications <br> <br> <ul> <li>Demonstrated understanding of intellectual property concepts (including copyright and trademark)</li> <li>Bar admission</li> <li>Previous experience in the audio, theater, television, motion picture and/or music industries</li> <li>Previous experience and/or understanding of business models in both digital and traditional media</li> <li>Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills </li> <li>Ability to distill complex concepts and ideas to their essence, allowing them be accessible across different levels of an organization</li> <li>Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to efficiently juggle large volumes of work under aggressive and competing deadlines</li> <li>Experience successfully operating independently while exercising sound judgment and focusing on excellence</li> <li>Willingness to question old norms before applying knowledge gained through experience to new contexts</li> <li>Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment</li> <li>Dedication to acting as a collaborative team player within the Business Affairs group and across all teams at Audible</li> </ul> <br> Audible is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
