The incumbent in this position will work closely with other members of the Office of General Counsel as well as executives and other employees in the Business Sectors and Staff Functions, advising them on a wide variety of federal, state and local government contract matters, commercial contract matters, international activities, general legal compliance and other related areas of practice. The incumbent will be expected to develop close working relationship with business stakeholders to provide not only outstanding legal advice but also practicable compliant business solutions. The incumbent will serve as legal advisor to business unit leaders on a broad array of topics, including legal risk mitigation, customer management, strategic initiatives and compliance programs.</p> <p>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide accurate, timely, business-oriented legal advice to all levels of company. </li> <li>Advise on and supports government and commercial contracts, international activities and a wide variety of other legal and business matters.</li> <li>Assist in the prevention of disputes and litigation by proactive, early involvement and mediation in business transactions; manage disputes and related litigation.</li> <li>Ensure that business practices and procedures comply with Federal, State and local laws and are consistent with applicable corporate policies and procedures.</li> <li>Serve as a pro-active partner to internal clients and demonstrate outstanding teamwork and professionalism</li> </ul> <p><b>Qualifications</b> </p> <ul> <li>A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with at least one U.S. state bar membership.</li> <li>Ten or more (10+) years of directly transferable experience on U.S. Government contract and commercial contract matters litigation, and/or investigation response required.</li> <li>Possess in-depth knowledge of the FAR/DFARS as well as compliance requirements unique to contracting with the U.S. Government.</li> <li>Experienced in advising on proposal development, negotiations, contract performance, protests and dispute resolution in connection with Government, international and commercial programs.</li> <li>Experience in international business operations and activities, contracting and regulatory compliance matters, including ITAR, EAR, FCPA, and trade compliance regulations; federal government cyber security requirement, and federal government cost accounting are a plus.</li> <li>Must be able to clearly and effectively with all levels of management and Government agency personnel.</li> <li>Demonstrated business acumen and ability to interact with a demanding leadership team.</li> <li>Possess an ability to prioritize and be work successfully in a dynamic team environment.</li> <li>Possess superior communication and writing skills.</li> <li>Strong negotiation and drafting skills.</li> <li>Ability to perform sophisticated legal analysis, strong writing and communication skills, and superior judgment required. </li> <li>Self- motivated, hard-working team player with a “can do” attitude.</li> <li>Experience in IP and trademark law a plus.</li> <li>Must be willing &amp; able to obtain a DoD security clearance if needed in the future.</li> </ul> <p><br> </p> <br> Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000.
