Commercial Litigation Associates (Junior)

Steptoe LLP seeks two associates to join its Commercial Litigation practice group. Qualified candidates will have 1 to 3 years of litigation experience, including experience drafting correspondence, briefs and motions, handling fact discovery. Deposition and trial preparation experience would also be helpful. Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a track record of academic and professional excellence, excellent project management skills, and strong research, analysis, and writing skills. The associate will work with lawyers in the firm’s Los Angeles and Century City offices, among others. The associate’s primary practice group will be either plaintiff or defense side commercial litigation and matters will include a variety of financial services litigation issues along with a wide variety of other disputes. We also anticipate that the associate will work with lawyers across several of the firm’s other practice groups including investigations and white-collar defense, and international arbitration who represent manufacturers and retailers in a variety of consumer product litigation. We are looking for self-starters ready to assume immediate responsibility as an integral part of high performing, collaborative firmwide teams with our lawyers in various offices and remotely, and able to multitask and work with sometimes multiple overlapping projects and deadlines. The expected salary for this position is $215,000 - $250,000, depending on experience. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution is required.
