Kennedys is looking for an Associate/ Senior Associate/ Legal Director to join our team based in either our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices. The Kennedys insurance team in Scotland is led by Gavin Henderson, a ranked individual for Professional Negligence in both Chambers and the Legal 500. This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly regarded firm and be part of our continued growth. Our team in Scotland has expanded significantly in recent years and we are now over 25 strong with further growth planned. We are interested in speaking to candidates with professional indemnity expertise, with experience acting for professionals and insurers in complex and high value claims. Team Kennedys Scotland provides a comprehensive service to insurers, ranging from friendly, off the record advice to comprehensive legal advice on the most complex of claims. Instructed by a mix of insurer and corporate clients, the team receive a steady flow of claims related to property damage, employer, public and occupier liability, motor, catastrophic injury, healthcare, fraud, abuse, product liability and occupational disease. Clients Insurers Professionals Corporates Cases All aspects of complex and high value professional indemnity matters. Advising on claims and in conduct and services complaints. Both pre-litigation and litigated matters. Promoting early resolution of claims and alternative dispute resolution methods without recourse to litigation. Required experience 3+ years’ experience as a Scottish Qualified Solicitor* Strong Academics (2.1 or higher degree) or equivalent. Experience of Sheriff Court and Court of Session. Experience of assisting on large cases in a team environment. Previous client contact and attendance at business development events is ideal.
