Description
We are seeking two mid-level associates to join our innovative and inter-disciplinary team focusing on digital health, compliance and risk management, and government investigations for companies in the health care and life sciences industry. This is a busy and dynamic practice with many sophisticated clients across the industry spectrum with varying needs. We offer associates substantive experience addressing complex problems in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with the support and guidance of a highly experienced and collaborative, cross-functional team. Candidates should have experience with health care regulatory matters, including Federal health care program (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid) enrollment, reimbursement, billing, and compliance; Internal and government investigations; False Claims Act litigation; Medtech industry regulatory and compliance frameworks; Risk assessment and mitigation; Compliance with the Anti-Kickback Statute, including product and service pricing and discounts; and market access, including reimbursement support and patient access programs. We are seeking candidates with the ability to communicate directly with internal and external clients through live discussions as well as clear, concise written legal advice; Provide risk-based analyses of complex concepts; Learn about, and understand, clients’ business objectives, operations, and strategies, in order to provide creative and practical guidance that allows clients to maintain compliance with laws and regulations while meeting their business needs; Manage competing priorities and deadlines efficiently and effectively; and collaborate closely with other teams, including colleagues specializing in FDA compliance, litigation, technology transactions, and health care privacy. Our group offers unique growth opportunities, which could include: Researching and publishing articles on Reed Smith’s renowned legal blog, The Health Industry Washington Watch; Developing sophisticated data analysis skills, including learning to read and write code, to support client investigations, in collaboration with our world-class data analysts; Designing and delivering presentations and seminars about cutting-edge areas of the law on panels and at conferences and other events held by Reed Smith, our diverse array of clients, and the health care and life sciences industry; Participating in internal and external secondments to other Reed Smith offices or to our clients’ own businesses; Mentoring junior attorneys and being mentored by senior attorneys; and investing in Reed Smith’s robust culture of giving back, including through provision of pro bono legal services, innovation projects, community service, and other similar initiatives (some of which receive billable credit). Pay Range: $235,000 - $365,000. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith’s pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
