The Long Island office of Kaufman Dolowich, an AV-rated® firm designated one of the “Best Companies to Work For” among U.S. law firms by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking an associate attorney with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in general liability insurance defense litigation including premises, NY Labor Law, and/or vertical transportation. The candidate would be joining a growing, dynamic firm with more than 200 attorneys nationwide. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated attorney seeking to grow with an expanding practice. The successful candidate will be expected to handle all aspects of a case including conducting discovery, corresponding with clients and counsel, depositions, motion practice, oral argument, court conferences, mediations/settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. Duties and Responsibilities: Represent clients in a wide range of insurance defense matters. Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from inception through resolution. Regularly handle court appearances and depositions. Communicate with clients and provide status reports. JD from an ABA accredited Law School. Admitted in NY. A minimum of 2 years of insurance defense and general liability litigation experience. Outstanding research, writing and oral advocacy skills. Excellent academic credentials and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously. The total annual compensation range for this position is $105,000- $120,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
