Apply Description JOB SUMMARY: The Appearance Attorney will report directly to the Managing Attorney of New York Foreclosure. Responsible for handling appearances in Suffolk, Nassau and other counties in New York. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to read loan documents in detail to identify what are loan documents missing and issues to address with clients Ability to communicate with clients, referee and adversaries in a professional manner Strong organizational skills Ability to prepare for and appear in court for foreclosure conferences, settlement conferences and motion hearings Motivated self-starter, ability to multi-task, detail-oriented, flexible, and personable. Prepare summaries of hearings and provide results in a timely fashion Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job does not require the exercise of supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE: Must be licensed in New York Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited law school No prior experience required as extensive training will be provided KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office products Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects Overall good attitude and willingness to adapt to change Must possess good organizational skills Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Balances team and individual responsibilities; Contributes to building a positive team spirit. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Detailed analytic experience and organizational skills required Must have a vehicle or other means of transportation PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
