Fund Formation/Investment Management Associate – Boston

Foley & Lardner is seeking an associate with 2-5 years of relevant experience to join our Fund Formation & Investment Management (FFIM) Practice Group. The preferred location for the position is Boston, but we are open to considering qualified candidates in Chicago or New York. Alternate Foley office locations may be considered based on business need and the candidate’s experience. Our FFIM practice group offers the full suite of services to GPs and LPs; we understand the business objectives, dynamics and trends of GPs, LPs and the entire private funds industry. Qualified candidates must have solid fund formation and investment management experience, including fund and management structuring, side letter negotiations, secondary sales, and Investment Advisers Act registration and compliance experience. The ideal candidate also will have sophisticated document drafting skill and the ability to manage complex projects and transactions. The candidate must be comfortable with direct interaction with both senior partners and clients and have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and an exceptional work ethic, coupled with a desire to be part of a fast-paced, growing and collaborative environment. To be considered, a candidate must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where the candidate is admitted to practice.
