This includes Arbitrum, an Optimistic Rollup, that instantly scales apps, reducing costs and increasing capacity, without sacrificing Ethereum's security. Porting contracts to Arbitrum requires no code changes or downloads since it’s compatible with existing Ethereum developer languages and tooling. Arbitrum today is the leading Ethereum scaling solution with dominant market share including hundreds of apps on the platform and over 50% of all rollup liquidity. <br> Our team is extremely passionate and works tirelessly to bridge the gap between what blockchain is and what blockchain can be. After raising an initial round of $3.8M in seed funding in January 2019 and a $20M series A, as well as a $100M series B in 2021, we are ready to hire additional team members that have an interest in working in the blockchain space and a knack for approaching problems in unconventional ways <br> To support our mission, we are looking for a mid-level or senior-level attorney with a strong background in both crypto and general matters common to in-house support (e.g. commercial, HR, product and governance) to work closely with the General Counsel on a myriad of legal issues. You will play a critical role in helping to build out the legal function, supporting legal compliance matters and providing cross-functional advice and support. <b> What you'll do:</b> <ul> <ul> <li> Be a trusted partner to our business and support teams, working collaboratively and building a strong line of communication with stakeholders across the organization.</li> <li> Provide thoughtful, timely and practical legal advice to internal partners on company-wide matters, with a focus on commercial law, employment, product and governance issues.</li> <li> Draft, revise, and negotiate a diverse range of complex Web3, partnership and tech transactions (e.g. Strategic Collaboration Agreements, MSAs, Investment Documents, Grant Agreements, Vendor Agreements, and NDAs), addressing legal risk in business-centric ways with the goal of strengthening partnerships and advancing opportunities.</li> <li> Provide prompt, actionable advice to our Talent team related to hiring and maintaining human capital, including non-cash compensation.</li> <li> Provide practical commercial support to our Partnerships and Marketing teams, including assisting with contract interpretation and management.</li> <li> Give strategic advice to Management and the Operations and Tech teams on regulatory and other legal matters.</li> <li> Lead the design and implementation of scalable processes and procedures as we grow in order to ensure company-wide compliance with applicable laws and enhanced efficiency of legal support.</li> <li> Monitor relevant regulatory developments.</li> <li> Opportunity to work with our Board of Directors.</li> <li> Legal research as needed.</li> </ul> </ul> <b> Who you are:</b> <ul> <ul> <li> J.D. degree from a US law school and member of the bar of any US State.</li> <li> Proven in-house counsel experience in crypto, blockchain, Web3 or fintech.</li> <li> 8+ years of legal experience for Associate General Counsel / 4-7 years of legal experience for Assistant General Counsel.</li> <li> Practical and sound transactional and negotiation skills.</li> <li> Experience supporting an HR or Employee Benefits function.</li> <li> Familiarity with governance and compliance matters and risk management.</li> <li> Comfortable working in an evolving and growing environment that is prone to change, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.</li> <li> Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.</li> <li> High degree of professional ethics and integrity.</li> <li> Outstanding communication skills at all levels.</li> <li> Sense of humor.</li> <li> Deep knowledge of blockchain technology and Ethereum and Arbitrum and/or other Layer 2s is preferred.</li> <li> Preferably, experience at both a law firm and in an in-house setting.</li> </ul> </ul> At Offchain Labs, we believe that diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are essential to our success.
