<b>NDLS Global Human Rights Clinic Legal Fellow (Limited Term)</b>.

<br> Notre Dame Law School (NDLS) is offering a 2-year postgraduate position (Global Human Rights Clinic Legal Fellow) to work with the Clinic's Founding Director on client representation matters involving human rights (civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, as well as environmental, climate change, sustainability, and labor rights) before international, regional, and (some) constitutional courts, as well as international arbitral tribunals, human rights treaty bodies, and international decision-making bodies that directly affect human rights outcomes. The Global Human Rights Clinic Legal Fellow will work with Clinic students and will also be under the supervision and direction of the Founding Director. The Global Human Rights Clinic Fellow will work with Clinic students on the research and drafting of petitions, briefs, memorials, and other judicial, administrative, or quasi-judicial communications in the representation of cases.

<br> Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<br> 1. 50%: Working with the Clinic Founding Director on the supervision of JD and HR LLM students on client representation matters before international, regional, and (some) national constitutional courts, as well as international arbitral tribunals, human rights treaty bodies, and international decision-making bodies that directly affect human rights outcomes.
<br> 2. 25%: Working for the Clinic Founding Director on developing skills training, teaching tools and preparation seminars for Clinic students, on the practices and procedures of international, regional, and (some) national constitutional courts, as well as international arbitral tribunals, human rights treaty bodies, and international decision-making bodies that directly affect human rights outcomes.

<br> 3. 25%: Research and stay abreast of current and upcoming international human rights issues, recommend potential cases to the Director that the clinic could become involved.

<b>Minimum Qualifications:</b>
<br>
<ul>
<li>Education: Doctoral degree (Ph.D., J.D., Ed.D.)</li>
<li>Experience: 3 to 4 years</li>
<li>Degree (Knowledge): US JD or a LLM or JSD with a focus on international human rights law</li>
<li>Skills: Interest or expertise in international human rights law</li>
<li>Legal experience in a relevant area</li>
<li>Excellent communicator including legal writing</li>
</ul>

<b>Preferred Qualifications:</b>
<br> Preferred candidate will have had a clerkship and/or legal counsel work at international or regional courts, treaty bodies, or international arbitral tribunals; or legal work at the United Nations or any permanent missions of States to the United Nations; or prior experience working as legal counsel in international or regional organizations.
