SUMMARY: The WLS Staff Attorney (Litigation) assists and/or supplements the handling of client legal work including general litigation management, due diligence and other specific matters as requested. The Staff Attorney works under the supervision of the Senior Manager, WLS and substantive oversight of Winston partners and associates. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, responsiveness, critical thinking skills, professionalism, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting project deadlines and hours requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide support for litigation teams as follows (non-exhaustive list): Analysis/Review of opposing and third-party productions Preparation of deposition witness kits and deposition summaries Preparation of fact timelines Investigation support Cite and fact check memoranda and litigation briefs Manage/Support client extranet sites For staff attorneys with foreign language skills, provide foreign language matter support including assisting with witness interviews, translating documents and providing document summaries Review and analyze documents using various eDiscovery tools Meets hours expectations for all matters assigned and communicate regarding any needs for adjustments in budgeted hours BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school, with current active admission to any state bar association required. Must be admitted in state where resides. Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience with legal research and writing, discovery and motion practice required. Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or management experience in a professional setting is preferred. Must live within a commutable distance to a local office required. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience and qualification’s. Total compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, yearly retirement plan contribution, and a comprehensive benefits package. We value diversity in the workplace.
