Porter Wright has an opportunity for a Litigation Associate within the Utility Regulation practice in the Columbus, Ohio office. This position will focus on representing public utilities in rulemaking, ratemaking, and complaint case proceedings; advising competitive retail electric and natural gas service providers on certification and compliance; and assisting companies in conducting due diligence for projects and transactions. Qualifications include: Two to five years of experience in public utility law in Ohio or another state Strong research and writing skills Must be admitted to the practice of law in the state of Ohio Ideal Candidates will have demonstrated the following attributes: Emotional intelligence and humility Exceptional project management skills Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team Experience drafting applications, motion papers, discovery requests, settlement agreements and other standard documents Strong work ethic and desire to grow as a valued member of a litigation team High level of attention to detail Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines Ability to engage in internal and external relationship building.
