McDonald Carano LLP is seeking one or more full-time experienced Associates to join the Construction Law & Litigation Practice in our Reno office. Our construction group is ranked Tier 1 in the “Best Law Firms” report published by U.S. News–Best Lawyers and Band 1 in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. The practice handles dispute resolution (arbitration, mediation, litigation, pre-litigation counseling on troubled projects); project planning and advice (selection of project delivery method, bidding strategy and process); contracts and contracting (plan, structure, draft, negotiate construction contract documents); and project execution (compliance, permitting, insurance, bonding, performance, payment). Clients include owners, developers, investors, design professionals, general contractors, engineering professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers. The practice group includes attorneys who serve as a gubernatorial appointee on the State Public Works Board, an Administrative Law Judge for the Nevada State Contractors Board, and outside general counsel to the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors. The candidate(s) should have three to five years of experience with construction transactions and disputes involving large commercial buildings, mixed-use, retail, industrial and government projects. The candidate must have strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school. Admission to the State Bar of Nevada or a willingness to sit for the next exam is required. Must have excellent references and communication, analytical, technical and writing skills.
