We are seeking qualified candidates for an Associate position with our Environmental Practice Group, to be based in our Houston office. This role will focus on environmental compliance, enforcement defense, transactional diligence and drafting, ESG diligence and program development, risk mitigation, and environmental litigation. Our ideal candidate has 4 – 6 years of environmental law experience. The candidate should be able to work as the lead associate ?on transactions and also work with other attorneys on various aspects of due diligence, negotiation and document drafting. Essential Functions: Candidates for Associate positions must provide effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys. Associates are routinely required to: Provide thorough factual and legal research and analysis; Draft necessary agreements and documents with efficiency and clarity; Manage projects from commencement to closing; Competently and professionally participate in client meetings and calls and otherwise communicate effectively with clients and supervising attorneys; and Complete tasks efficiently and accurately. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines; Strong organization and matter management skills; Ability to work professionally and effectively with clients, partners, associates and support staff; Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team; Clear and effective drafting skills; Exceptional project management skills; Strong negotiating skills.
