<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText"><div> <p>GEICO's Corporate Office is looking to hire a <b>Corporate Attorney</b> to direct the disposition of claims involving, but not limited to, legal questions and/or claims having high dollar exposure.</p> <p></p> <p> In this role you will handle insurance bad faith and extracontractual claims and coverage disputes with moderate supervision of a Managing Attorney. You will also conduct research on legal issues affecting a claim or a Company process and will participate in group and individual projects. You will draft technical claims memorandums and legal memorandums and other materials to keep claims associates informed of new laws and procedures affecting claims and the Company. You will handle incoming call responsibilities and provide legal advice and recommendations on claims handling including coverage denials, coverage disclaimers, and approvals of trial requests. You will provide management with timely updates on significant matters including law changes, umbrella claims, appeals, bad faith claims, and claim evaluations. You will recommend, develop, and conduct geographic claims training sessions, and assist in the preparation of insurance policy forms, endorsements, and amendments.</p> <p></p> <p><b> Qualifications:</b></p> <ul> <li>Law degree and be admitted to practice law in at least one state</li> <li>Requires 3-5 years of litigation courtroom experience</li> <li>Preferred 3-5 years of personal injury and insurance claims experience</li> <li>Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment</li> <li>Must be able to multi-task</li> <li>Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Benefits:</b></p> <p> At GEICO, we make sure you have the support and resources to leverage and develop your skills, secure your financial future, and take care of your health and well-being.
