As Legal Counsel, you'll provide legal advice on issues and business concerns to mitigate legal risks and develop solutions. You'll provide expert representation for us with respect to legal disputes and litigation. Additionally, you will prepare, review and negotiate a wide variety of contracts and agreements including government contracts, commercial contracts, international contracts, and various professional services, intellectual property, employment, and licensing related agreements. <div></div> <div> Sierra Space is based in Louisville, Colorado, with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Corporate Counsel role will be in-person and based out of our office in Broomfield, Colorado. </div> <div> Sierra Space designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations. </div> <div> <div> Learn more about Sierra Space </div> </div> <div></div> <div> Primary Responsibilities: </div> <ul> <li> <div> Support and counsel our business on issues related to a variety of legal areas, including corporate matters, employment law issues, international trade compliance, litigation, intellectual property, and ethics </div></li> <li> <div> Support our contracting and supply chain organizations, including through negotiation of terms and conditions and advising on potential contract issues and disputes </div></li> <li> <div> Assist with drafting and negotiating nondisclosure agreements </div></li> <li> <div> Support and provide legal advice on statutory and regulatory compliance matters. </div></li> <li> <div> Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements </div></li> <li> <div> Provide legal advice on issues and business concerns to mitigate legal risks and develop solutions </div></li> <li> <div> Assist in the development and improvement of legal processes </div></li> <li> <div> Assist the legal team on other issues as needed </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Must-haves: </div> <ul> <li> <div> Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school with at least 2-4 years of relevant experience in a law firm </div></li> <li> <div> Admitted and in good standing to practice law in at least one state </div></li> <li> <div> Experience and competence in one or more of the following areas: corporate work, employment law, international trade compliance, or supply chain issues </div></li> <li> <div> Ability to identify and mitigate legal risk and develop workable business solutions </div></li> <li> <div> Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to motivate/work with others </div></li> <li> <div> Ability to organize projects/tasks and meet established deadlines </div></li> <li> <div> Ability to work successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment </div></li> <li> <div> Willingness to jump in and manage any kind of legal matter – we are a small team with all hands on deck </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Preferred: </div> <ul> <li> <div> Self-starter and a problem solver; must have the ability to see the big picture and implement changes as required </div></li> <li> <div> The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> <div> Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances </div> </div> <div></div> <div> IMPORTANT NOTICE: </div> <div> To conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce. </div> <div> With 30+ years of proven spaceflight heritage, Sierra Space has provided more than 4,000 space systems, subsystems and components to customers worldwide, and participated in more than 500 missions to space, including to Mars.
