<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText jobsearch-JobComponent-description css-1axw7mm eu4oa1w0"><div> The mission of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public. <br> <br> The primary purpose of the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer position is to provide support to the Vice President &amp; Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer with all compliance issues. <br> <br> KEY FUNCTIONS <br> <br> Under the general direction of the Vice President &amp; Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer (VP &amp; CCEO), the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer will assist with the following: <br> <br> 1. Coordination of the Institutional Compliance Program to ensure that M. D. Anderson's activities are in compliance with federal, state and local government codes, statutes and regulations. <br> <br> 2. Oversight of all compliance activities. <br> <br> 3. Development of programs to educate personnel on general principles of compliance and business ethics. <br> <br> 4. Representation of M. D. Anderson in legislative matters at the federal, state or local government levels. <br> <br> 5. Oversight over all institutional policies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with all University of Texas (UT) System, state and federal regulatory requirements. <br> <br> 6. Serving as a compliance legal advisor on institutional committees. <br> <br> 7. Supervision of support and professional staff in the administration of the Compliance Program at the direction of VP &amp; CCEO. <br> <br> 8. Participation in institutional and UT System committees and subgroups and acts as a liaison between the President and the Institutional Compliance Committee. <br> <br> 9. Representation of M. D. Anderson in compliance matters in all interactions with the public. <br> <br> 10. Other duties as assigned. <br> <br> This position has a target base salary of $317,000 to $373,000 and is eligible for up to 30% incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable. <br> <br> REQUIREMENTS <br> <br> Required Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. <br> <br> Preferred Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with undergraduate background in business, science and/or healthcare. <br> <br> Required License: Current Texas license to practice law. <br> <br> Required Experience: Eight (8) years' legal experience, including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience. Strong organization and communication skills.
