We offer our employees the latitude required for professional growth and career advancement.</p> <p></p> <b><br> Job Scope and Major Responsibilities:</b> <ul> <li> Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.</li> <li> Review, draft and manage the company’s contracts and RFP’s which include client contracts, vendor contracts, sale and purchase of goods contracts, leases and many more.</li> <li> Negotiate contracts with the ability to balance legal risk with the commercial needs of the company.</li> <li> Work with all groups within the company to review and negotiate contracts and to resolve contractual disputes all while keeping in mind business relationships.</li> <li> Provide overall leadership and management of all corporate and commercial legal matters, including those listed above; facilitate strategically important corporate initiatives and advise management with respect to the transactions and negotiations.</li> <li> Participate as a senior member of management, working directly with the corporate executive team to understand strategic initiatives and business needs, providing legal and business counsel, and establishing and influencing appropriate ethical standards and legal considerations which must be considered when decisions are made.</li> <li> Advise the company on the litigation risks of possible business decisions, providing preventive counseling with respect to the legal risks associated with business practices, and developing strategy with both inside and outside counsel in response to civil litigation and regulatory inquiries (including negotiating settlement agreements where appropriate).</li> <li> Lead various compliance initiatives; participating in the development, implementation and oversight of the corporate compliance program to facilitate the prevention of fraud and abuse.</li> <li> Provide development guidance and assists in the identification, implementation, and maintenance of organization information privacy policies and procedures in coordination with organization management and administration.</li> <li> Work with relevant parties to ensure the organization has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent, authorization forms, and information notices and materials reflecting current organization and legal practices and requirements.</li> <li> Coordinate with the Sr. Compliance Director in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring of all trading partner and business associate agreements, to ensure all privacy concerns, requirements, and responsibilities are addressed.</li> <li> Work cooperatively with the Sr. Compliance Director and other applicable organization units in overseeing patient rights to inspect, amend, and restrict access to protected health information when appropriate.</li> <li> Work with outside counsel and other experts regarding certain business initiatives and projects and maintain financial efficiency of outside experts.</li> <li> Stay up to date on industry trends and changes in healthcare regulations to proactively address legal risks and opportunities.</li> <li> Assist in quality improvement initiatives as sanctioned by the Quality Oversight Committee</li> <li> Complete other task as needed</li> <li> Compliance with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and its implementing regulations, as amended (“HIPAA”)</li> </ul> <b><br> Required Qualifications:</b> <ul> <li> Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor Degree</li> <li> Valid License from NJ State Bar Association.</li> <li> Minimum 5 years of experience working with healthcare, contract law and compliance.</li> <li> Demonstrated ability to engage and to complete transactions quickly and effectively, while balancing business expectations with legal and regulatory compliance objectives in an efficient and timely manner</li> <li> Knowledge and experience in information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release control technologies</li> <li> Knowledge in and the ability to apply the principles of HIM (health information management), project management, and change management</li> <li> Demonstrated organization, facilitation, communication and presentation skills</li> <li> Ability to work independently and in a matrix environment</li> <li> Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, government regulations and legal documents</li> <li> Experience working as in-house counsel</li> </ul> Previous state or federal regulatory or managed care compliance experience preferred <p></p> <p><b><br> Join our team! </b>If you feel you are the right fit for this role, please apply.
