Description
Seyfarth’s Employee Benefits department clients are typically large institutional companies. We handle the investment work with large pension plans which involves negotiating investment management agreements on behalf of pensionplans. In other words, pension plans investing in other funds. This is a new line of business that Seyfarth is selling through our Employee Benefits department. This is an opportunity to take our existing work and grow it to a substantial practice. It is a leadership opportunity forsomeone who can take it and run with it. We are seeking a client facing attorney who can development this business through their EB clients and through new clients. Advise clients on the investment of plan assets in collective vehicles, privateinvestment funds, and managed accounts, and regularly negotiates investmentmanagement agreements and side letters. Working with both plan sponsors andinvestment managers, in-depth knowledge of issues that arise in outsourced fiduciary solutions, including the allocation of responsibility and relatedrisk among plan sponsors, outsourced fiduciaries, and underlying investmentmanagers. Advise clients on fiduciary responsibility, including effective ways to control risk and liability. Advise plan sponsor committees with both routine plan administrative matters and discrete plan investment transactions.
