Description About the Role We are seeking a highly intelligent and motivated Associate with a strong litigation background to join the Brisbane based practice led by David Kerwin. David acts on behalf of national and international professional indemnity and directors and officers (D&O) liability insurers. Ideally, candidates will have some experience in coverage, or an interest to develop this expertise with assistance from senior coverage experts in the team. The team has a strong focus on culture and seeks to work collaboratively wherever possible. The team undertakes a broad range of interesting and complex coverage and defence matters, and the senior members of the team are committed to developing lawyers in its junior ranks to fine tune their existing skill set and accelerate their career progression. About You You will be an Associate with the following competencies: A strong litigation background, preferably from a leading domestic or international law firm; Ideally, some experience in coverage, or a readiness to develop this expertise; Strong academic results at university level; Strong attention to detail in written work; Strong verbal communication skills, including in the business development setting; Ability to manage competing priorities effectively; Ability to work collaboratively wherever required but, also, work independently with proficiency; and Willingness to assist senior lawyers with business development endeavours.
