As Senior Health Privacy Counsel you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and experienced team on privacy issues impacting Apple’s business and products globally. You will work directly with business and engineering teams to design innovative privacy solutions for products as well as across the legal department on Apple activities and regulatory issues.<br> <br> <b>Description</b><br> <br> You will be responsible for advising and providing support on privacy related aspects for various health and research projects and work alongside legal, engineering and business teams. This role will report through the Privacy Legal team and advise the business and engineering teams on cutting-edge health privacy issues. Key Responsibilities: - Deep understanding of health and general privacy laws, regulations, requirements and industry best practices. - Advising the business on legal, regulatory, and business standards. - Supporting and monitoring a privacy program, as needed, to ensure that technology and business processes meet applicable legal requirements. - Coordinating internal and external investigations, compliance reviews and monitoring activities. - Identifying and communicating potential risks areas with leadership. - Staying informed of and properly communicating any changes to or developments in privacy laws, regulations, standards, and guidance.
<ul>
<li>8+ years of experience (either at a major law firm and/or in-house) in health privacy law and/or health research.</li>
<li>Knowledge of comprehensive privacy laws, and regulatory and other guidance and standards.</li>
<li>Understanding of US state and federal sector-specific privacy laws, including health privacy laws, as well as research based laws and requirements.</li>
<li>Experience providing strategic and practical advice to product, business, and engineering teams.</li>
<li>Experience advising on regulatory compliance and inquiries.</li>
<li>JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.</li>

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $221,600 and $333,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
