Provides advice and support to management and staff of Point32Health and its affiliates within assigned business areas. Responsible for identifying and analyzing legal issues, providing regulatory analysis, presenting clear recommendations, drafting key documents, and directly managing legal aspects of complex corporate initiatives. <div></div> <div> Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing </div> <div> DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES </div> <ul> <li> Performs legal research and provides verbal and/or written legal advice to management and staff in various departments across the organization.</li> <li> Provides legal services in connection with regulatory examinations and investigations, regulatory implementations, regulatory filings, and new product development; establishes and maintains direct relationships with state and federal regulatory authorities.</li> <li> Provides legal interpretation on federal and state contracts and regulatory requirements.</li> <li> Negotiates and drafts contracts, including provider agreements, employer group agreements, confidentiality and business associate agreements, vendor agreements and other agreements relating to operations.</li> <li> Represents corporate client in litigation and pre-litigation claims, administrative hearings and arbitration; works with outside counsel, as appropriate.</li> <li> Provides education to staff on legal issues, including risk management, confidentiality, and member rights.</li> <li> Maintain and promote a positive can-do attitude and professional demeanor</li> <li> Other duties and projects as assigned.</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Qualifications – what you need to perform the job </div> <div> EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: </div> <ul> <li> Requires a J.D. and license to practice law in Massachusetts</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> EXPERIENCE (minimum years required): </div> <ul> <li> Minimum of 10 years relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house environment</li> <li> 3 years health or insurance law legal experience preferred</li> <li> Experience working on corporate, finance, and transactional matters preferred</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> SKILL REQUIREMENTS: </div> <ul> <li> Excellent verbal and written communication and advocacy skills.</li> <li> Excellent document drafting and negotiation skills.</li> <li> Excellent research skills with strong analytic ability to interpret contracts, legislation, laws, and regulations</li> <li> Provide accurate and timely counsel to internal clients</li> <li> Actively identify issues and develop innovative solutions and strategies to reach satisfactory resolution.</li> <li> Work across the organization and develop strong internal and external relationships to achieve organizational goals and objectives.</li> <li> Exhibit mature judgment on relevant matters of business and law.</li> <li> Ability to see the “big picture” of strategic imperatives as well as pay close attention to detail.</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: </div> <ul> <li> Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.</li> <li> Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.</li> <li> May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.</li> <li> May be required to attend meetings at other company locations or other external meetings.</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Commitment to Diversity, Equity &amp; Inclusion </div> <div> Point32Health is committed to making diversity, equity, and inclusion part of everything we do—from product design to the workforce driving that innovation.
