To strengthen our legal department as we continue to grow our business, we are seeking a talented and experienced attorney to join our legal team and advise the company on a range of technology, privacy, data protection, and other related issues and initiatives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to tackle some of today’s toughest and important legal challenges in the intersection of privacy, data protection, technology, and cycling._** #### **_Join us in making the world a better place through the power of bicycles and build your dream career at the same time!_** **How you’ll make a difference:** * Provide multi-functional support in areas of privacy compliance, data protection, and tech transactions. * Take a collaborative approach to building privacy and data protection into Specialized’s digital ecosystem. The candidate who fills this role will be part of a global team that advises cross-functional partners on a broad range of privacy and data protection issues. * Maintain an up-to-date understanding of global privacy laws, compliance obligations, and policies and help identify, evaluate, and address risk. * Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of technology-related agreements, as well as provide strategic and tactical legal advice regarding privacy, data protection, and IP issues. * Work closely with internal business partners to understand their perspectives, processes, applications, projects, and technologies to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices while guiding them to the successful resolution of projects. **Experience:** * 3-6 years of experience advising on legal risks and mitigations related to privacy and data protection, with working knowledge of relevant global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, including GDPR, CCPA, and GLBA * Experience drafting, negotiating, and managing technology and IP-related agreements of all kinds, including those related to data privacy and protection, cloud services, SaaS, supply, professional services, consulting, confidentiality (NDAs), joint development, in-license, and out-license agreements * Admission to at least one US state bar * J.D. degree from an accredited law school * CIPP/US and/or CIPP/E certifications are preferred * A combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred * Strong team player with organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills as well as good judgment * Detail-oriented, quick learner, and able to multitask and prioritize effectively among different projects in a fast-paced environment * Independent and proactive way of working paired with a high level of self-motivation to perform duties with a high level of professionalism * Excellent drafting skills * Capacity to cultivate strong client relationships and successfully influence teammates in a fast-paced, innovative environment * Ability to drive legal strategies for the company and independently initiate new assignments and identify ways to improve process and operations **Location:** This role may be remote; particular preference will be given to candidates that are in or near Specialized US-based locations, which include Boulder, Colorado, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Morgan Hill, California. #LI-Remote **What we offer:** We are a dynamic and multicultural team within an innovative environment.
