Join us to <div> #IgniteYourCareer </div>! </div> <div></div> <div> Your role at Clorox: </div> <div></div> Reporting to the Director of Legal – Strategic Partnerships, this Corporate Counsel position supports the growth of the entire enterprise across multiple brands and product portfolios. The position works closely with the business development, marketing, and sales teams on inbound and outbound brand licenses, marketing partnerships, joint product development, and other complex commercial agreements. <br> <br> The position is based in Oakland, CA, with a hybrid office/home schedule. <div></div> <div> In this role, you will: </div> <div></div> <div> The successful Brand Licensing Attorney will be a distinguished professional with a strong business orientation. The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following: </div> <ul> <li> <div> Negotiate and draft intellectual property licenses and agreements addressing various forms of joint development efforts, inbound and outbound brand licenses, and strategic alliances </div></li> <li> <div> Work with business teams to craft and document business strategies, goals and processes for significant partnerships and alliances, new business development ventures, and new channel- and technology-related development projects </div></li> <li> <div> Develop and foster strong relationships with business partners, including providing user-friendly legal advice while taking into account business realities </div></li> <li> <div> Conduct due diligence regarding potential partners and ensure compliance with company policies and practices </div></li> <li> <div> Work with Legal leadership, other attorneys and staff on departmental matters, including providing training and mentoring to other attorneys and paralegals in the department </div></li> <li> <div> Develop and implement legal training for business teams </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> What we look for: </div> <ul> <li> <div> A Juris Doctor degree is required; CA bar or willingness to sit for (and pass) CA bar exam, or meet the qualifications for registration under the California State Bar in-house counsel program </div></li> <li> <div> Minimum of 7 years' experience practicing law with a focus on intellectual property licensing and development transactions, preferably from a mix of private practice and in-house work </div></li> <li> <div> Have experience drafting and negotiating license agreements and other complex commercial agreements </div></li> <li> <div> Have experience in trademarks, brand enforcement and licensing </div></li> <li> <div> Must have proven experience advising and counseling internal clients on legal risks, business strategies, and other issues related to commercial transaction </div></li> <li> <div> Have excellent writing skills, especially the ability to streamline contract language to eliminate repetition, increase readability and remove ambiguity </div></li> <li> <div> Be able to build great relationships with business partners, including developing and leveraging internal and external networks to drive business goals </div></li> <li> <div> Interest in proactively streamlining Legal team processes and procedures to best serve an evolving business </div></li> <li> <div> Unquestioned personal integrity; be a role model for ethical principles and values of the company </div></li> <li> <div> Strong leadership skills, including the ability to influence, provide points of view, and to listen </div></li> <li> <div> Experience working with consumer product goods companies a plus </div></li> <li> <div> Thorough understanding of digital media and e-commerce ecosystems a plus </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Workplace type: </div> . <div> We seek out and celebrate diverse backgrounds and experiences. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location.
