Consider this opportunity to join our team as Assistant General Counsel.</p> <p> This position assists Cenlar FSB with the management and resolution of legal matters and provides advice related thereto, identify risk, and provides support and guidance to the various business operations.</p> <p><b> Responsibilities:</b></p> <p><b> The following duties and responsibilities vary by discipline (Litigation and Regulatory):</b></p> <p><b> Litigation</b></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the day-to-day management of a high volume of complex active litigation, as well as HOA, and tax lien matters</li> <li>Responsible for litigation risk identification and notification.</li> <li>Partners with and provides guidance to the various business operations with complex pre-litigation issues</li> <li>Manages outside counsel and attorney fees</li> </ul> <p><b>Regulatory</b></p> <ul> <li>Maintains compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations impacting the mortgage servicing business.</li> <li>Maintains and updates legal compliance inventory of federal and state laws and regulations that relate to mortgage servicing activities as well as FHA, VA, USDA, and GSE guidelines</li> <li>Works cooperatively with Compliance to keep up with all changes to the laws and advise the relevant lines of business (LOBs) within the servicing operations in a timely manner</li> <li>Assists the relevant LOBs within the servicing operations with drafting and implementing policies and procedures to assure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and investor requirements</li> <li>Provides legal advice and ongoing support for mortgage servicing operations and customer assistance related issues within servicing operations</li> <li>Advises senior management within the Legal Department and LOBs of legal servicing risks within the organization and devises practical solutions for any issues raised</li> <li>Responds to regulators and auditors examinations and reviews</li> <li>Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, include but not limited to compliance and operational risk. Demonstrate consideration for Cenlar’s reputation as well as our clients, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards</li> </ul> <p><b>Qualifications:</b></p> <ul> <li>J.D. and licensed member in good standing of the Bar of at least one U.S. state required</li> <li>A minimum of 10 years of experience in handling mortgage related litigation required</li> <li>Must have extensive knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, RESPA, TCPA, TILA, and the Gram Leach Bliley Act</li> <li>In depth understanding of FHA, VA, USDA, GSE, and HAMP servicing rules</li> <li>Must have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills</li> <li>Ability to prioritize work, effectively manage a large number of issues at one time, and interact effectively with senior management</li> <li>Ability to work independently</li> </ul> <p><b>Total Rewards:</b></p> <p> As an employee-owner at Cenlar, you’ll receive an outstanding benefits package that includes paid medical, dental, and life insurance, 401(k), and tuition assistance as well as opportunities for training and professional advancement.</p> <p> Cenlar is a drug-free workplace and an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer M/F/D/V/SO.</p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <p></p></div>
