<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText"><div> <div> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Duties</b></h2> <p>As the Associate General Counsel, Compensation, Benefits, Products, and Services Division, you will serve as a leader in the Office of General Counsel providing legal advice and representation on a wide variety of issues relating to both the internal work of OPM, as well as OPM's governmentwide policies, oversight, and programs that support more than 5 million Federal employees, annuitants, survivors, and family members. If selected, you will serve as a core member of the OGC senior leadership team as a primary advisor to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. </p> <ul> <li>Supervise the provision of legal advice and assistance concerning the governmentwide rules and guidance established by OPM for other agencies on a host of complex matters affecting the Federal workforce, including pay and leave, retirement benefits, health and other insurance programs or products, and the Combined Federal Campaign.</li> <li>Supervise the provision of legal advice on matters involving OPM and its employees including procurements, contract administration, appropriations law, ethics, and other areas.</li> <li>Oversee the coordination of litigation support to the Department of Justice when matters affecting programs concerning the Federal workforce arise in or are appealed to the Federal courts.
