Barnes & Thornburg LLP seeks a Litigation Associate for our Indianapolis Office with two to five (2-5) years of complex litigation and mass tort or product liability experience, preferably with an emphasis on defending industrial, agricultural and life sciences companies involving chemical exposure, environmental contamination and toxic tort litigation. Responsibilities: 1. Participate in all phases of litigation, including discovery, eDiscovery, depositions, motion drafting, trial preparation, etc. 2. Attend hearings, arbitrations, mediations as well as trial 3. Work with Partners and the group regarding litigation and trial strategy Qualifications: 1. 2-5 years of substantive complex litigation experience in mass tort and chemical product liability litigation 2. Experience drafting pleadings and motions, conducting and responding to discovery, conducting depositions, preparing for trial, etc. 3. Be highly motivated to be part of an active trial practice, demonstrate initiative as well as an ability to assume responsibility for client matters 4. Have the interpersonal skills to work well as part of a large, collaborative team 5. Demonstrate outstanding writing, research, and analytical skills 6. Strong academic credentials 7. Former federal judicial clerkship experience would be a plus 8. Admitted in Indiana or be eligible to waive into the state bar We will not consider resumes submitted by external agencies or recruiters for this position.
