Associate - General Practice Transactional

HeplerBroom LLC, a large defense firm, is currently seeking a licensed Associate Attorney with 5+ years of associate level experience. The position is located in our Edwardsville, IL, office, focusing on general practice and defense litigation. Hybrid work options available. This is an ideal situation for attorneys with litigation and general practice experience and interest. This position focuses on both general practice transactional and complex defense litigation. Defense litigation will primarily focus on products and premises liability (pharmaceuticals, medical devices), class actions, and commercial litigation. General practice will focus on corporate/business formation and business litigation, estate planning/probate administration and probate litigation, real estate transactions, contract negotiations and related litigation, collection, and municipal and government law. Experience at HeplerBroom will include: Oversee business litigation, estate planning, probate, real estate, and contract matters Research, analyze, and interpret law sources such as statutes, rules and regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions Communicate with clients, opposing counsel and courts Develop business with new clients in the general practice area Monitor routine case files to ensure deadlines are maintained; investigate facts and legal matters to determine causes of action Make court appearances and handle caseload Prepare pleadings, memos, briefs, etc. Ideal Candidate will have: Good standing with the Illinois bar; Missouri bar also preferred but not required Strong research and writing skills Strong analytical skills Ability to work independently Interest in business and client development HeplerBroom is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
