Attorney - Commercial Litigation

The Commercial Litigation attorney will represent clients involved in adversarial legal proceedings such as litigation, arbitration, mediation, and administrative law proceedings. The disputes will generally be commercial-related but will include a broad spectrum of types of cases including contracts, employment, real property, municipal, complex class action, and business torts. The attorney will work alongside other attorneys in a team environment to represent individuals and corporate clients in state and federal court proceedings from intake to a final resolution, including client meetings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, evidentiary hearings, and trial. Handle or assist with all aspects of litigation including pleadings, research, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, evidentiary hearings, and trials Develop litigation strategies with other attorneys to effectively achieve client goals Manage cases from inception to completion either independently or under the supervision of other attorneys Effectively manage multiple clients and matters Effectively and efficiently prioritize multiple tasks Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and assistants to provide timely and efficient legal services to clients Delegate to and supervise the work of paralegals and assistants Draft pleadings, pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, responses, briefs, legal memoranda, correspondence, mediation statements, and other written product Conduct legal research to support case strategies and written product Prepare written discovery and responses to written discovery Manage the production, receipt, and review of written and electronic discovery Communicate with clients about the status of their matter(s) and new developments Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Must be highly organized and detail-oriented Must be self-motivated and independent Ability to use document management and time management software Full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and PDF) Strong analytic and legal problem-solving skills Ability to function well in a high-paced, and at times, stressful environment Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion Possess an outstanding academic record with a JD from an ABA-accredited law school Admitted to and in good standing with The Florida Bar One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a commercial litigation practice Experience with electronic discovery platforms Experience in Coyote and iManage is a plus Jones Foster provides a team-oriented working environment with a competitive salary and outstanding benefits.
