Responsibilities: Promote and represent the company’s European Union/ United Kingdom (“EU/UK”) Mergers and Acquisitions legal and inward investment services by building trust with clients while providing legal counsel. Apply complex legal skills and market insights to provide measured local support to international clients as they expand into the EU/UK. Provide legal services for clients who are buying assets, entities, or have IP needs across jurisdictions. Provide legal services for US clients who desire to open, build, and grow new subsidiaries or maintain a corporate presence in the EU/UK. Help clients invest and expand in the EU/UK. Help provide the delivery and coordination of legal advice for corporate, tax, employment, immigration, real estate, and stock option matters. Coordinate project management with lawyers and advisors. Serve as a liaison with US lawyers and other advisors. Help found and build this practice in Silicon Valley. Build and grow the company’s practice to develop revenue. Cross-sell other offices and service solutions within Fieldfisher. Contribute to a wider business plan supporting new and existing Silicon Valley and US clients of Fieldfisher. Responsible for client management and development by anticipating client needs/opportunities underpinned through in-depth knowledge of Mergers and Acquisitions and Inward Investment structures with a particular focus on technology sector clients. Build and maintain key relationships with third parties in the field. Education: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Legal Studies, Law, or related field Experience: 6 years of progressive experience as VP Legal, Solicitor, or related occupation Alternate Requirements: Will accept a single degree or any combination of degrees, diplomas or professional credentials determined to be equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Law, Legal Studies, or related field by a qualified credential service and 6 years of experience as a Mergers/Acquisitions Solicitor/Lawyer, or related occupation. Licensure requirement: California State Bar License required; Qualification as a Solicitor with Senior Courts of England and Wales Special Requirements: Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in each of the following: Legal experience in international markets. Experience with international EU/UK Mergers and Acquisitions. Experience with corporate expansion, inward investments, and regulatory guidance (applying law in the technology sector). Leading legal teams and advising clients on large, global growth projects. Drafting skills for strategic advice provisions on global (EU/UK) Merger and Acquisition and inward investment projects.
