Paralegal - Medical Negligence

A bit about the role An excellent opportunity to support two highly regarded claimant Lawyers (Partner and solicitor), supporting them on their work on maximum severity medical negligence claims, including cerebral palsy and birth injuries, delayed diagnosis and spinal cord injuries. A bit about you Responsibilities As part of the role, you will be required to demonstrate excellent and sound file management responsibilities being responsible for ensuring that our files are in good order including all legal litigation documents as well as medical records paginating as appropriate. Other responsibilities will include: Obtaining and reviewing medical records, preparing medical chronologies and organisation of medical records. Liaising with clients and handling matters with appropriate sensitivity Taking notes whilst witnesses are being interviewed and drafting statements Attending case conferences with counsel and expert witnesses and preparing notes Writing case reports as well as day-to-day correspondence Document control – maintaining accurate records, follow up and task lists Thorough preparation of documentation/cases to trial Drafting preliminary schedules of loss There will also be an occasional requirement to visit the London office. Key Skills & Experience Strong educational background with a minimum grade of 2:1. Experience as a Paralegal/Legal Professional in personal injury or medical negligence would be advantageous. Reliable and professional. Team player. Ability to work methodically and at pace, including when time pressured. Excellent time management and numeracy skills. Ability to manage workload and deadlines.
