THE OPPORTUNITY: The IP Specialist position provides support patent to attorneys and/or designated team members in rendering legal services to clients. The IP Specialist will assist in procedural and substantive matters regarding U.S. and foreign patents and patent matters. THE DAY-TO-DAY: On any given day you will: Prepare US patent applications and prosecution documents for filing at the US Patent and Trademark Office Assist with patent Docket Management using CPI web-based software Compose correspondence, reports, memoranda, audit responses and legal documents for clients and Firm attorneys Coordinate with Records Management for proper organization and maintenance of client files Coordinate with vendors Calendar management using Outlook and complex meeting planning Coordinate travel arrangements Open, close and manage client matters and submit conflict checks Assist with Time Entry and Billing Other duties and projects as assigned YOU HAVE: Strong client service skills Ability to work under deadlines and prioritize responsibilities Knowledge of US patent procedures, filings and requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience A minimum of 3 years of USPTO filing experience required. Experience using IP legal databases a plus. Experience using docketing software a plus. Experience with CPI and Maxval a plus.
